AI marketing

AI marketing is the use of AI to improve how a business is found, how its content is produced, and how enquiries are captured and qualified - inside a system you can measure.

What it is

Marketing infrastructure where AI assists with content production, audience understanding, personalisation and lead qualification, connected to the tools that store and act on enquiries. The emphasis is on the system, not on individual campaigns.

What business problem it solves

Marketing often "isn't working" for one of two reasons: not enough of the right people are reached, or the interest that is generated leaks before it becomes a conversation. AI marketing helps distinguish which, then strengthens that part.

When it's useful

When you can't tell which channels produce customers, when content production is a bottleneck, when leads arrive but aren't followed up quickly, or when spend goes up but results don't.

Who it's for

SMBs with an existing customer base and some marketing activity - organic, paid or both - who want it to become predictable rather than sporadic.

The limitations

AI-generated content still needs editorial judgement and a point of view. AI cannot make a weak offer compelling, and it cannot substitute for understanding your customer. Attribution remains hard; AI improves it but does not make it exact.

How XP Labs approaches it

XP Labs looks at the whole journey - reach, capture, qualification, follow-up, measurement - before recommending anything. Often the highest-value fix is in capture or follow-up, not in more traffic.

Questions to ask before implementing it

  • Is this a demand problem or a conversion problem?
  • Which channels currently produce paying customers?
  • How quickly is a new lead contacted, and by whom?
  • Where do leads live once they arrive?
  • What would we stop doing if we knew it wasn't working?
